I just found an essay contest where you could win $500! It is put on through EngineerGirl, but is open to girls and boys. "For your essay, choose an animal that is ranked by IUCN as either: vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered. Learn about the animal and consider how engineering might improve life for that species." Elementary School Students (grades 3-5); Essays must be 400 to 700 words.
Imagine that you are an engineer. Identify an organization that might implement your proposed solution and write a letter to the leader of that organization. In your letter, describe your proposed solution in detail, explain how it should be implemented, and discuss why it is important to implement. To strengthen your submission think of questions the leader may have about your solution, and attempt to answer them in your letter. Welcome to the DJES Science page. My intention is to use this forum as a place to provide pertinent information to the family and students of DJES. By following this blog, using the RSS feed in the bottom right of this page, you will be aware when updates, special events, study guides, and much more become available. If you have any suggestions for our science class or this page, please leave a comment on this blog, or e-mail myself directly at [email protected].
